The greatest week for cider makers and cider fans alike is upon us! Chicago’s Cider Week houses CiderCon 2019, cider events across the city, and Cider Summit from Monday, February 4th to Saturday, February 9th. What events will there be? What can you partake in? Where can you meet CiderScene? Let’s find out.
CiderCon & Cider Events
CiderCon is the traveling event for all cidermakers and cider aficionados. Taking place from Monday through Friday of Cider Week, this annual trade conference brings cidermakers and cider industry pros together under one room. CiderCon brings the industry together to discuss to cider making, cider fruit production, the cider market, and cider regulations. This becomes the ultimate card swapping, secret sharing, friend making event for cider.
While we are not in the space of making cider, we wanted to make sure we could give back. We will be volunteering to assist at some of the events on Thursday and Friday, including manning the registration booths. We will be rubbing shoulders will all the cider greats and enjoying the events all around the city once we complete our volunteering hours.

Cider Summit
Cider Summit, the region’s largest cider tasting, is back with more ciders and new features for 2019 and tickets are on sale now! Cider Summit Chicago celebrates local, regional and international artisanal ciders and cidermakers. The 7th annual Cider Summit Chicago will feature 170+ ciders, cider cocktails
**NEW this year: Cider Summit is launching its Winesellers, Ltd. Heritage Cider Island, which features artisanal producers all located in a special area on the first-floor ballroom. For the first time at Cider Summit Chicago, there will be a dedicated area featuring cidermakers using the most traditional cider apples and cidermaking techniques. The Heritage Cider Island will feature more than 40 ciders ranging from California to Vermont, with 5 producers from this region and including ciders from England, France, Spain, Germany and New Zealand!
Cider Summit 2019 by the numbers:
· Cider Summit will feature a selection of over 170 ciders.
· Attendees can visit over 50 producer/importer booths.
· More than 10 countries will be represented.
· Selections from 12 different states will be available.
· 50% of the ciders have never been poured at previous Chicago festivals.
· Heritage Cider Island will have 12 producer/importer tables.
In addition, Cider Summit will also include a cider cocktail lounge featuring apple spirits and cider cocktails; selected food pairings (to be announced); and an onsite event store featuring event merchandise.
Once again, Cider Summit will debut its annual collaboration cider at the Chicago event. The collaboration cider, named Cider Summit Reserve, was created in collaboration with Seattle Cider Company and is a blend of heirloom and other cider apples. The reserve cider was crafted as a love letter to American cider. Made using both new and traditional techniques, it boasts both a clean acid profile and expansive bright aroma.

VIP Tickets: (limited quantity for session two available) $50 per session, VIP tickets include early entry to the event, a souvenir tasting glass, 20 tasting tickets, and a $2 donation to Heartland Alliance. All tickets must be purchased in advance online. VIP tickets for session one SOLD OUT.
General Admission Tickets: $40 per session, General Admission tickets include a souvenir tasting glass, 16 tasting tickets, and a $1 donation to Heartland Alliance. All tickets must be purchased in advance online.
