Terpenes & Cider: Look at the Future
November 13, 20182018 CiderScene Awards: Nominations
December 4, 2018Now you can give your apple pie a little kick with hard cider sorbet recently introduced by Edmonds-based Core Hero Hard Cider. Since it contains about 5.5 percent alcohol, it’s available for adults only.
“It might sound over the top, but the apple cinnamon hard cider sorbet tastes awesome with apple pie,” says Steve Kaiser, owner of Core Hero. “It’s unlike anything you’ve tasted before because the sorbet is new and the only one made from real hard cider in the U.S.”
Kaiser explained his handcrafted sorbet is a tasty alternative to ice cream because it is:
- Fat-free
- Non-dairy
- Gluten-free
- Cholesterol-free
- Made with local apples
- Sweetened with honey
- Lower in calories (one-third to one-half) than most ice creams and sorbets
Core Hero makes the sorbet in small batches with a blend of apples grown in Edmonds, Lopez Island and Wenatchee. The unique apple mix includes Fuji and Granny Smith, and varieties originally developed in England such as Brown Snout, Yarlington Mill, Foxwhelp, Kingston Black and Golden Russet.
The Lynnwood and Kirkland Whole Foods stores carry Core Hero apple cinnamon and apple cranberry sorbets (and ciders). More information at CoreHeroHardCider.com
