The International Cider Awards – known as the ‘Oscars’ of the cider-making world – has extended its deadline for entries to 31 October 2021. Judging for the awards, which is the most historic cider competition of its kind, will take place on 16-18 November.
The International Cider Awards takes place every two years and includes a judging panel comprising the world’s foremost practicing cider-makers who judge each entry blind, assessing each beverage on its sensory appeal, distinctiveness and character to reach a consensus decision on the commercial worth of the cider being judged.
Ruth Evans, MBE said: “We have all faced an unusual 18 months, so we thought it only right and fair to give cider-makers as much time as possible to enter their best products into the awards.
“Despite the challenges we have all faced, we are delighted to see that the cider industry has continued to innovate and create world-class products worthy of entering our competition.
“Our final deadline for entries will now be 31st October, so we urge cider-makers to register their best ciders to be judged by our panel of international cider-makers.”
This year’s competition will include three cider categories and 10 classes.
The final deadline for entries is 31 October 2021. For more information about the awards, including a list of categories and entry criteria, please visit International Cider Awards’ website.
