Northwest Territory Cider: Interview & Kickstarter
July 2, 2022Hard Cider Label Design Contest – 2022
July 23, 2022Tieton Cider Works has grown from a 1,500 square foot farmhouse in 2008 where they were dropping tractor loads of freshly grown apples directly from their orchards into a 30,000 square foot production facility and taproom where they press, ferment, blend, pack and ship all of their own creations. Tieton’s cider comes from Craig and Sharon Campbell’s Harmony Orchard. This land has been in their family since the 1920’s when their grandfather planted his first trees in Tieton, Washington.
As a third generation Yakima Valley farmer with over thirty-five years’ experience in marketing produce, Craig Campbell has always been curious about the history, production, science, and industry of food. Growing different varieties of trees is truly what makes Craig happy and he is always looking for new varieties to plant and nurture.
Tieton Cider now sources fruit from all over the local Northwest growing region to produce fruit-forward ciders. Some of their year-round offerings include apricot, cherry, huckleberry, blueberry, and some more traditional ciders like a semi-dry and dry ciders.
With quite the selection of assorted semi-sweet cider’s on the market already, Tieton wanted to shake it up a bit. They returned to our roots by offering a dry, “high-octane” 8.4% ABV Imperial Apple Cider. While considered a semi-dry, this cider feels sweeter than it is with a solid backbone from the higher ABV. We’ve tasted several imperial ciders and like the noticeably subtle taste of alcohol that compliments the dry aspects of the fruit itself.
This cider will be release on 7/30/22 with a live event. They will have a candy bar, cider slushies, pizza, and music from 4-8PM at their cidery. The address is 619 West J St Suite 102, Yakima, WA 98902.
With the complexity of flavors, this cider will have you guessing but, be assured, there is only one ingredient you are tasting, apples. Locally sourced and 100% fresh pressed apples grown in their backyard in the Yakima Valley, naturally gluten and vegan free with no added sugars! Now doesn’t that sound like a beverage you should get your hands on this summer?
Get their new cider starting on July 30th at their taproom or by using their cider locator on their website at www.tietonciderworks.com.
